Dr Narendiran a UN Consultant for “Simulation Training Centers” is a Clinical Skills Coordinator in the School of Medicine, Taylor’s University, Malaysia. He is a trained medical doctor with a Masters in Hospital Management, Diploma in Medical Education with a clinical experience in ICU.
He works as full-time staff in Human Patient Simulation center, facilitating and providing simulation training to undergraduate medical students for the past 14 years. He trains students in clinical workflows, patient safety, teamwork and communication, and clinical escalation through a multi-disciplinary simulation approach for undergraduate medical students. Now, he is responsible for enhancing the pedagogy of healthcare simulation within the school and strengthens the connections across the basic science disciplines for undergraduate medical students.
Since 2013, Naren has been helping some local and regional medical college simulation users in technical, instructional strategies and also in developing a comprehensive clinical skills curriculum based on their needs. He also provides support in developing an infrastructure, managing and providing skills training programs, developing scenarios and mapping them to undergraduate medical curriculum. He has conducted workshops in simulation in and outside Malaysia.
Currently, he is working on Cultural Considerations in Simulation Based Education and Comprehensive Learning module for Undergraduate medical students on usage of High-fidelity Simulators too.
