Associate Professor Dr Lin Woon Leong


BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Lin Woon Leong is an accomplished Associate Professor at Taylor's University in Malaysia, specializing in the Faculty of Business and Law. He holds a Ph.D. from Universiti Putra Malaysia and an MBA from the University of East Anglia in the UK. Dr. Lin's academic journey has focused on exploring the complex relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its impact on firm performance in the automotive industry.

Dr. Lin's research interests span various areas, including business ethics, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, corporate political strategy, and the circular economy. Recently, he has expanded his research scope to include the emerging field of blockchain technology.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to academia, Dr. Lin was promoted to the esteemed position of Associate Professor on January 1, 2023. He also serves as the Director of the Sustainability Hub within the Faculty of Business and Law and is actively involved in various centers, including BIZPOD and the International Family Enterprise Center. Notably, he chairs UNPRME for SoMM and contributes his expertise as a committee member of PRME for the ASEAN+ Chapter, advocating for sustainable education in ASEAN nations.

Starting from January 1, 2024, Dr. Lin has been appointed as the Program Director of the DBA for the Faculty of Business and Law, showcasing his academic prowess and leadership acumen.

Dr. Lin has collaborated on projects with UMGC Malaysian and Brunei to develop the ACCESS sustainability training program at Taylor’s University. He has also been appointed as a research scholar for SEARCH Malaysia. From 2022 to 2024, he has been involved in the Scholars’ Commentary Project - Second Series.

Dr. Lin Woon Leong boasts an impressive publication record, with over 42 articles published in reputable journals. His publications are recognized by esteemed institutions such as ABS, Thomson Web of Science (SSCI), and Scopus, reflecting his prominence in the academic community. Dr. Lin's research has garnered significant attention, evident from his H-index of 15 on Google Scholar as of June 26, 2023. Furthermore, his publications have amassed over 1,302 citations since 2018, underscoring their substantial impact on scholarly discourse. His influential presence in academic publishing underscores his expertise and invaluable contributions to his field.

Dr. Lin's research transcends multiple domains, contributing to diverse fields of study. His notable investigations encompass the influence of clean energy and technological innovation on economic growth in Asian nations, the role of sustainability and natural resource management in enhancing environmental quality, and the examination of green growth, governance, and green technology innovation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals within G7 countries. Additionally, Dr. Lin's research explores the significance of entrepreneurial education in preparing future entrepreneurs in Malaysia and analyzes the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on the ASEAN tourism industry.

With his multidisciplinary approach, Dr. Lin Woon Leong demonstrates an unwavering commitment to addressing critical issues in business, economics, sustainability, and societal challenges.
