Dr. Wong is a Senior Lecturer, Stream Coordinator of Engineering and Computer Science department and e-Learning Coordinator in American Degree Transfer Program, Taylor's University. He holds a Ph.D. in Science (Biochemistry) and Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning (PGCHeTL).

Dr Wong is actively involved in e-Learning, blended learning and is passionate about educational technology and innovative pedagogy in teaching and learning. Dr. Wong is an active user of online synchronous and asynchronous tools in classroom to engage the students and make the learning fun and interactive, especially with the use of emerging technology in pandemic education - student/classroom response system (commonly known as mobile clickers). He has successfully completed the requirements to be recognized as Certified Educator in “Kahoot”, “Formative”, “Nearpod” and “ClassPoint”.

In 2017, Dr Wong had completed Google training and granted “Certified Google Educator (CGE)” for demonstrating the advanced knowledge, skills and competencies needed to implement and integrate Google for Education tools. He had also completed all the e-Learning packages (eLP 1-4) in Taylor's University Certified Digital Educator (CDE) Program. In 2021, Dr. Wong had successfully completed the requirement to be recognized as “Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE)” for Technology Literacy for Educators- 21st Century Learning Design.

 In 2015, Dr. Wong received Silver award in Taylor’s University’s Inaugural SPARK Award in recognition of his innovative online module site. His module site, General Chemistry CHEM 105, won The Oscars for TIMeS (Taylor’s Integrated Moodle e-Learning System) Awards in 2015 and 2016, which was the most active module using TIMeS in Taylor’s University. In 2016, Dr. Wong was the recipient of “Project Transformer Heroes” in Taylor’s University. He was invited to share his award-winning modules within the school and other schools. He was one of the judges for 2016 Taylor’s University’s SPARK Award. Notably, Dr. Wong was the recipient of the  highest award conferred by the President of Taylor’s University - Taylor's University President award (excellent in transformational teaching and learning), in recognition of his innovative teaching method. In the national level, Dr Wong was also awarded Champion (Category Immersive Learning) in inaugural Reimagining and Redesigning Malaysian Higher Education Award 2017, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Malaysia. The winning of this award granted him national grant (Fundamental Research Grant Scheme, FRGS) to carry out research in the field of innovative pedagogy and immersive learning. In the same year, he received e-Learning grant from Taylor's University to implement research project in the field of Augmented Reality and Gamification. In the following year, Dr. Wong was appointed as Jury in “Anugerah Khas Menteri Pendidikan Malaysia: Reka Bentuk Kurikulum dan Penyampaian Inovatif 2018” (AKRI 2018)- Category Immersive Learning. In 2020, Dr. Wong was the recipient of Bronze Award for Immersive Learning Category of Exemplary Meritorious Academic Staff (EMAS) Award, Taylor's University. In 2021, Dr. Wong served as the judge panel for Exemplary Meritorious Academic Staff (EMAS) Award 2021, Taylor’s University.

Throughout the years, Dr. Wong has won numerous teaching awards and recognition in local and international e-Learning and innovation competition. Notably, he has won four Gold awards (2015, 2018, 2021 and 2022) and two Silver awards (2016 and 2017) in Invention, Innovation & Design of e-Learning (IIDEL), International University Carnival on e-Learning (IUCEL). Other awards include Silver award in poster presentation in ASIA International Innovation Exhibition (AIINEx 2020), Gold award in Innovation Competition and Exhibition 2021 (InCEx’21), Bronze award in Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2021: COVID-19 International Innovation Awards and Gold award in Exemplary Teaching and Learning Award 2021, organized by eLearning Forum Asia (eLFAsia) 2021. Moreover, Dr. Wong was appointed as Jury in several innovation competition or exhibition such as International Invention & Innovative Competition (InIIC 2021) and ASIA International Innovation Exhibition (AIINEx 2021). Dr. Wong was also one of the finalists in Edutech Asia 2017 Award (Category: Best use of In-class Technology) and invited speakers in Edutech Asia 2021.

Dr Wong's award-winning techniques and unique teaching methodologies have been presented in conferences and published in book chapter and journals. He was awarded Commendable Paper award in Taylor s University Teaching and Learning Conference 2017 (TTLC 2017). In addition, Dr. Wong was the invited speakers and was presented in TTLC 2020 and TTLC 2021. Currently Dr. Wong serves as the editorial board members of international journals such as World Journal of Education, Journal of Curriculum &Teaching and Asia-Pacific Journal of Futures in Education and Society.
