Associate Professor Dr Aditya Arya

Dr Aditya Arya is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at School of Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Taylor's University and also Visiting Associate Professor at The University of Melbourne, Australia and Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom. Dr Arya obtained PhD in Pharmacology from University of Malaya and appointed as a Senior Lecturer of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya in the year 2010. He joined Taylor's University, School of Medicine in 2016.

He is an active researcher who has published 60 over high impact research papers and has had many leadership roles, including current roles as a project leader of flagship grant under Ageing and Quality of Life, as well as co-researcher with Obesity & Wellbeing program. Moreover, he is involved in several research projects including high impact research grant (HIR) from the Ministry of Higher Education with more than RM 14 million. He is a Research Fellow to the Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals (IPharm) and National Institutes of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, Malaysia, since 2015.

Aditya research is focused on cellular and molecular pharmacology/biology using cutting-edge techniques and multifaceted; in-vitro and in-vivo approaches. His group is critically involved in identifying specific mechanisms that underlie the development of diabetes linked with cardiovascular dysfunction. His team target insulin networks and the role of signaling pathways involved in pancreatic and metabolic functions by exploring the translational relevance of molecular biomarkers in the discovery of potential therapeutics for diabetes and cardiometabolic disorders.
