Ms. Puteri Sofia Binti Amirnuddin

Puteri Sofia Amirnuddin is a Senior Lecturer at Taylor’s University. She has previously served as Programme Director for the Master of Laws programmes from 2016 - 2022. She has also been provided with opportunities to be part of Centre of Industrial Revolution and Innovation (CIRI) in 2020 - 2021 and Vortex XR Lab at Taylor’s University in 2022.

Puteri Sofia Amirnuddin has also served as E-Learning Consultant for the MSME Resurgence COVID 19 Project 2022 to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). She has also served as an E-Learning Advisor for the collaboration project between Taylor’s University and United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB).

Throughout her 10-year duration as a law lecturer, Puteri Sofia Amirnuddin has published 6 book chapters, 13 journal articles, and presented 12 papers. She is a professional trainer certified by Human Resource Development Corporation, Malaysia and a Certified ClassPoint Trainer by INKNOE, Singapore. She had also served as a Visiting Scholar at University of Reading and University of Leeds in 2020.

Puteri Sofia Amirnuddin was also involved as a Paper Reviewer for Education + Training|Emerald Insight, Paper Reviewer and Stream Coordinator for International Conference on Human Capital 2018, Paper Reviewer for Teaching and Learning Conference (TTLC) 2020 and 2019. She also has wide experience having held various positions such as Deputy Chairperson and Conference Secretariat for ICFLP 2019 Conference, Committee Member of Paper and Publication Committee for TTLC 2020, TLS Champion for QS Taskforce 2020 & 2021, Academic Integrity Officer, Internal Auditor, External Examiner, External Reviewer, Newsletter Editor-in-Chief, Programme Leader for KDU-Oxford Brookes University (UK) programme, Panel Member for Full-Fee Scholarship for University of Tasmania (Australia), Committee Member of CRELDA journal, Content Creator for Marketing in Asia.

She was invited as a keynote speaker at International Conferences, and as a Panellist/Speaker for more than 70 local and international conferences, webinars, summit and workshops. She has also served as a moderator for local and international events. She has appeared in presentations alongside the former Chief Justice of Malaysia, Tun Richard Malanjum and also Court of Appeal Judge, Dato Lee Swee Seng. 

She has also received numerous awards and accolades for revolutionising teaching and learning techniques in teaching law. In 2017, she was awarded the Exemplary Meritorious Award Staff (EMAS), being the first law lecturer in Taylor’s Law School to be awarded with such award. In 2018, she was awarded the Gold Award and Most Innovative Award from University of Malaya for redesigning the formative assessment for English Land Law. In 2019, she was the recipient of the Gold Award for teaching law using AR, NLP and also Gamification. In 2020, once again she won the EMAS Award from Taylor’s University for her new teaching innovation. Her innovative idea was shortlisted as the Top 12% of innovators around the globe and the Top 5 in the Learning Assessment category for the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Awards 2020, known as the “Oscars of Education”.

Puteri Sofia Amirnuddin was also awarded the "President's Award for Transformative Teaching and Learning” being the highest award conferred by the President of Taylor’s University. She is the pioneer in teaching law using AR, NLP and Gamification in Malaysia.

She is active in sharing her insights, knowledge and experience with other educators around the world such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Amsterdam, Portugal, Oman, Singapore, Peru, India, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. She was invited to present her study on gamification to the academics from Public and Private Higher Education Institutions organized by Game Development Council of Malaysia and Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (Academic Excellence Division).

In 2020, she was recognized as ‘MIA 70 Rising Personalities on LinkedIn in Malaysia in 2020’ by Marketing in Asia. In 2021, she was recognized as one of the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders and Influencers on EdTech by Thinkers 360.

In the same year, she became the recipient of ‘Taylor’s Distinguished E-Learning Educator Award’, the highest recognition for outstanding academic staff who excels in and promotes e-learning across the university and beyond to transform students’ learning experience and outcomes.

Her teaching and learning innovation, ‘LAWleyPop’ app, also received an award in the “Outstanding Mobile App” category in the IUCEL 2021. She received a Gold Medal for her teaching innovation using ClassPoint at the International E-Content Development in 2021.

In 2022, she became a recipient of Gold Award at the IUCEL 2023 for her new teaching innovation that introduces branching automation in learning English Land Law.

Puteri Sofia Amirnuddin was also recognized as ‘150 Women B2B Thought Leaders You Should Follow in 2022’ and 'Though Leaders and Influencers You Should Work With in 2023' by Thinkers360.
