Dr. Rupam Konar is an accomplished academic and researcher in the fields of hospitality and tourism, serving as a Senior Lecturer at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. He holds a Ph.D. in Tourism and Hospitality and is a Certified Hotel Industry Analyst (CHIA). Dr. Konar also leads as the Programme Director for the Doctor of Philosophy (Hospitality & Tourism) and Master of Science (Tourism) programmes. With a strong academic background, including a Master’s in International Hospitality Management and a Bachelor's in Hotel Management & Applied Nutrition, he combines academic rigour with practical industry experience. His research focuses on service innovation, service quality management, sustainable tourism, and the evolving dynamics of smart tourism technologies. Dr. Konar has published over 60 research articles and book chapters. He has contributed significantly to topics such as green hotels, smart hotels, tourist engagement, and sustainable destination management. His scholarly contributions are featured in renowned journals and conferences globally. Passionate about research and innovation, Dr. Konar actively mentors postgraduate students and engages in international collaborations, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry practice. His work strives to foster sustainable and innovative advancements within the hospitality and tourism sector.
